The conservative restoration work enhanced the second and third floors and the penthouse floor. The building features a wonderful central courtyard walkway from which the individual units are accessed. An elevator has been built in the west wing of the courtyard to serve all floors and exclusively the units on the penthouse floor. The individual apartments turn out to be exceptionally bright for the historic center, by virtue of the double facing Piazza Pasi, the central courtyard, and to the south toward Via Carlo Dordi.

The housing units have been restored with extreme care by specialized and carefully selected companies in order to maintain and enhance all the original elements that give a unique character to the environments of “Palazzo Ghelfi.” The interior spaces in type, breadth and brightness lead back to the memory of the noble palace.

The Origins of “PALAZZO GHELFI

Palazzo Ghelfi is a historic building in Trent, located at 21 Mario Pasi Street in the city’s historic center. The palace was built in the 16th century by the Ghelfi family, one of Trento’s most important noble families. The palace was later sold to the Thun family in the 18th century, and in the 19th century it was purchased by the City of Trent. Palazzo Ghelfi was subjected to an initial restoration in the 20th century and today newly renovated houses the headquarters of a major bank on the ground floor, while the noble floors have been designated for luxury residential use.

The building is a three-story building with a stone facade. The facade is decorated with a series of frescoes and coats of arms. The building has an inner courtyard with a unique arcade.

Palazzo Ghelfi is an example of Renaissance architecture and represents an important “piece” of the history of the city of Trent.
